It's that quiet. I purchased this model as a replacement for a 12 year old 35 pint dehumidifier. After reading the specifications, a 22 pint unit would suffice. The unit is positioned in the corner of an unfinished basement next to the sump pit. I'm using the drain hose attachment which empties into the sump pit.
